Why Calgary homeowners book this

Calgary spring happens fast — timing the cleanup matters

The window between snowmelt and the first hot week is short. Dead growth left on the lawn through April mats down and suppresses new grass. A spring cleanup in the first two weeks after the snow clears gives the lawn a clean start before the growing season.

Fall prep protects plants and beds through the freeze

Leaving dead perennial stems in place and not clearing leaves from beds before freeze sets the yard up for more work in spring. A fall visit that cuts back, clears and mulches means beds are protected through the winter and easier to open in April.

One visit, full yard — no crew coordination

Most homeowners don't want to manage three different companies for a yard cleanup. We handle the beds, the lawn edging and the debris removal in one scheduled visit so you're not chasing anyone down.

Who books this service

Spring after a long Alberta winter

Matted leaves, dead growth and months of debris need clearing before the lawn can recover. One visit handles it before the growing season starts.

Fall yard closing before first frost

Perennials need cutting back, beds need clearing and leaves need to come out before the ground freezes. We time it right for the Calgary season.

Pre-sale curb appeal

A listing needs the front yard to make a strong first impression. We tidy beds, edge the lawn and remove debris before photos or showings.

Garden beds completely overgrown

A season or two of neglect and beds fill up. We clear dead growth, pull accessible weeds and restore defined edges so the yard looks maintained again.

Rental property yard maintenance

Landlords and property managers book us for spring and fall visits at rental properties — consistent, documented and easy to schedule.

Gift for a homeowner who's been putting it off

A gift card for a yard cleanup is one of the most practical things you can give. We show up, do the full list and leave the yard looking right.

What to have ready before we arrive

A little preparation means we can focus on yard work from the moment we arrive rather than spending time sorting out details.

Walk the yard and note priorities

Decide what needs the most attention — specific beds, the lawn edges or debris piles. Letting us know in advance means we tackle the high-priority areas first.

Have bags available if needed

If you want debris bagged and stacked for city pickup, have lawn bags on-hand. We'll bag as we go and leave them at the curb ready for collection day.

Flag plants or areas to avoid

If there are specific plants you want left alone, perennials you're keeping or sections of the yard off-limits, let us know when you book so we have it on record.

Tip: Sending photos of the yard before booking means we arrive with the right tools and a clear plan — no time lost figuring out scope on the day.
★★★★★Google Review

“Cleared the entire backyard, edged the lawn and weeded three garden beds in one visit. Looks better than when we moved in.”

Calgary's short outdoor season means timing the cleanup matters

A spring cleanup done in the first two weeks after snowmelt lets the lawn recover before summer. Too late and dead growth mats down, suppressing new grass and creating conditions for disease. Fall cleanup before the first hard frost protects perennials and prevents beds from matting over the winter under snow and ice.

Calgary's short outdoor window means both spring and fall cleanups are high-demand. Booking within one to two weeks of snowmelt or first frost is the way to get the right timing for the Calgary growing season.

Good to know

  • We do spring and fall cleanups — not weekly mowing
  • Mulch is not included but we'll spread customer-supplied material
  • We advise honestly on plants that should be removed vs kept
  • Large debris piles may require separate disposal arrangements
  • Garden bed depth work like amending soil is not in standard scope
  • Photos help us estimate time and price accurately before booking

Frequently asked questions

Do you do weekly lawn mowing?

No — we focus on spring and fall cleanup visits, garden bed work and seasonal yard tidying. We don't offer recurring weekly mowing contracts. For weekly mowing, a lawn maintenance company with dedicated equipment is the right fit.

What is included in a spring cleanup?

Spring cleanup typically includes clearing dead growth from garden beds, raking and removing debris, lawn edging, border trimming and picking up yard debris that accumulated over winter. The exact scope is confirmed when you send photos.

When should I book my fall cleanup in Calgary?

Ideally before the first hard frost — usually late September to mid-October in Calgary. Booking within that window lets us cut back perennials before they go completely dormant and clear leaves before they mat under snow.

Do you remove and dispose of debris?

We bag and stack debris at the curb for city pickup. Haul-away to a disposal site is not included in standard pricing but can be arranged — mention it when you send your quote request.

Can you trim trees and shrubs?

We handle light shrub trimming and dead growth removal from accessible plants. Large tree work, stump grinding or anything requiring power equipment beyond what we carry is outside our scope. We'll let you know if something needs a specialist.

What is dead-heading and do you do it?

Dead-heading means removing spent flowers to encourage new blooms or to tidy the plant. Yes — it's part of garden bed work when applicable. Mention it specifically in your quote request so we plan time for it.

Can you aerate the lawn?

Lawn aeration requires a plug aerator that we don't carry. We focus on manual cleanup and bed work. For aeration, a dedicated lawn care company is the right call — it's a quick job for someone with the right equipment.

Do you supply mulch?

Mulch is not included in our pricing. If you have bags on-hand we'll spread them over the beds as part of the visit. Mention this when requesting a quote so we can plan time for spreading.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Calgary across all quadrants, Cochrane and Airdrie. If you're on the edge of the service area, send a quote request and we'll confirm availability at your location.

How long does a yard cleanup take?

A typical residential yard takes two to four hours depending on size, the amount of debris and the number of garden beds. Sending photos of the yard before booking helps us give an accurate time and price estimate.
