Know where the dryer vent exits
Vent hoses run to the exterior through a wall, the floor or the ceiling. Knowing the path helps us plan the correct hose length and routing before we start. Calgary condos and apartments often vent through the ceiling — confirm this ahead of time.
Have the stacking kit on hand if stacking
Stacking kits are model-specific and must be sourced from the appliance manufacturer or an appliance parts supplier. We cannot install a generic kit — it must match the specific washer and dryer model numbers.
Tip: Check if the dryer vent hose in your laundry closet is the accordion foil style — these kink easily and are a common cause of poor dryer performance. We replace them with rigid or semi-rigid duct where space allows.

Delivery crews are contracted to transport and place appliances — final leveling, vent connection and stacking kit installation are outside their scope. Most crews are on tight schedules and are not equipped to verify level or check vent routing before moving to the next delivery.
How do I know if my washer is level?
Place a spirit level on top of the machine front-to-back and side-to-side. If the bubble is not centered in both directions, the machine is not level. Running a spin cycle and watching for rocking or walking is another sign the feet need adjustment.
What is a stacking kit?
A stacking kit is a model-matched bracket set that secures a dryer on top of a front-load washer. Without it, the dryer can shift or fall during operation. Stacking kits are appliance-specific — the same brand does not mean the same kit fits all models.
Can you connect a dryer to a gas line?
No. Gas line connections require a licensed gas fitter. We handle the dryer vent hose — the exhaust duct from the dryer to the exterior — and leveling. If you need a gas connection, we can refer you to the right trade.
What is an anti-tip bracket?
An anti-tip bracket is a floor-mounted bracket that prevents a freestanding range from tipping forward if heavy weight is placed on an open oven door. It is required by safety code in Canada for all freestanding ranges. We bring common sizes on every visit.
How long does appliance leveling take?
Leveling a single appliance takes about 20–30 minutes including the test run. Two appliances with vent hose connection typically takes 45–60 minutes. A full setup with stacking kit is 60–90 minutes.
Does an unlevel washer really cause damage?
Yes. An unlevel washer causes the drum to run out of balance, which puts repeated stress on the bearings and suspension with every cycle. Over time this causes premature bearing failure — a repair that often costs more than the appliance itself.
Can you move the appliances into position?

Yes. Connecting the vent hose from the dryer exhaust port to the wall cap is included. We check hose diameter, minimize bends, confirm the exterior vent flap opens properly and secure both ends with proper clamps.
What if my vent hose is too long for my space?
Excess hose coiled or kinked behind the dryer is one of the most common causes of poor dryer performance. We trim or replace the hose to the correct length. If the vent run is over 25 feet equivalent, we advise on the options for your specific setup.
