Paint applied directly over scuffs, unpatched holes and dusty surfaces doesn't adhere properly and the result shows. We fill, sand and prime before any paint goes on. The extra 30 minutes of prep means the finish looks right and lasts longer before the next touch-up.
Cut-in edges don't happen with just a brush and no tape
A clean edge where wall meets ceiling or trim requires either a very steady hand or tape and patience. We use both — tape on finished trim and a careful cut-in brush on the ceiling line. The edge is what people notice first when they walk into a freshly painted room.

We prep, paint and clean up
We protect the floors, prep the surfaces, cut in the edges and roll the walls. When we leave, the room is done and the drop cloths, tape and packaging are gone.

After drywall repair
A drywall patch that isn't painted stands out. We repaint the affected area or the full wall after repairs so the finish matches and the repair disappears.

Between tenants, scuffs and marks accumulate. A touch-up visit brings the walls back to presentable condition before the next showing or move-in.
Bedroom full repaint before move-in
Moving into a home and wanting the bedroom repainted before furniture goes in is the best time to do it. We handle the full room while the space is empty and accessible.

Getting the room ready in advance means we can start on the walls immediately and finish cleanly without delays.
Have the paint ready
If you're doing touch-ups, bring out any leftover paint from the original job — it's always the best match. For a full repaint, have the cans in the room and confirm the sheen before we arrive.
Clear the walls
Remove art, photo frames, hooks and outlet covers. We'll protect what's in the room, but removing wall items in advance saves time and means nothing gets paint on it accidentally.
Move furniture away from walls
Pull furniture at least 3 feet from the walls so we have room to work and lay drop cloths properly. We can handle floor protection, but shifting heavy furniture is not included in standard scope.
Tip: Keep leftover paint from any job in a sealed can with the colour name written on top. A year later, it's the only reliable way to touch up a scuff without repainting the whole wall.

Paint touch-ups need the original colour — a close match shows
Paint colour shifts as it cures and as rooms age. A newly mixed match from a hardware store chip will look slightly different in direct light on a large wall — especially under warm or cool lighting. The best result for touch-ups comes from using leftover original paint. For full wall repaints, we prime the entire surface before the top coat so any colour variation reads consistently.
Calgary's dry climate means paint dries faster than the can's instruction times suggest. In summer with a window open, drying can be very rapid — which can cause visible lap marks when rolling large surfaces. We roll in full-wall passes to avoid lap lines, and we work from wet edge to wet edge.

Do you supply the paint?
No — you supply the paint, we do the work. This keeps costs down and ensures you get the exact colour and sheen you want. For touch-ups, use leftover paint from the original job if possible. For full repaints, have the paint in the room before we arrive.
What sheen should I use for walls?
Eggshell is the most common choice for interior walls — it's washable, hides minor imperfections and doesn't show roller texture the way flat does. Satin works well in kitchens and bathrooms where moisture resistance matters. We can advise further when you send photos of the space.
Can you match an existing paint colour?
We can take a paint chip to a hardware store for a computer match, but the result is rarely perfect on large walls — especially on paint that has cured and aged over time. The best result for touch-ups comes from leftover original paint. For a full wall repaint, we prime the whole surface first so any colour reads consistently.
How long does a room take to paint?
An average bedroom with prep, cut-ins and two coats typically takes 3–5 hours. A larger living room or space with high ceilings takes longer. We typically need a few hours between coats for drying — in Calgary's dry climate, wall paint often dries faster than the can's instruction time.
Do you paint trim and doors?
Trim, baseboards and doors are priced separately from walls. If you want a full room done including trim, mention it in your quote request so we can include it in the estimate. Trim painting takes longer per linear foot than rolling walls.
Can you paint a ceiling in one coat?
Most ceilings need two coats to cover evenly — especially over a colour change or stain. One coat is sometimes sufficient for a white-over-white maintenance repaint with no staining. We assess the ceiling condition before deciding on coat count.
What prep is included?
Prep includes covering floors and furniture with drop cloths, filling nail holes with filler, sanding smooth, taping edges where needed and spot-priming bare patches. We don't paint over unrepaired damage — patching before painting is part of how we work.
What if I don't have leftover paint from the original job?
For touch-ups without leftover paint, we can try a computer-matched chip from the wall — but colour shift over time means it may read slightly different in certain light. For a full wall, priming first and applying fresh paint gives the cleanest result. We'll advise the right approach based on the scope.
Do you do exterior painting?
No — we focus on interior painting. Exterior work requires different equipment, coatings and weather considerations that are outside our current scope.
Can you do painting and drywall repair in the same visit?
Yes — if the drywall repair is minor like filling and sanding, we can do the repair and paint in the same visit once the filler dries. Larger patches that require joint compound and multiple skim coats need a separate drywall visit first, then a follow-up painting visit after the compound fully cures.
