If a tile is loose, leave it as-is. Pressing it back in compresses the remaining adhesive and makes re-adhesion harder. Leave the tile in its natural state so we can assess the substrate condition and apply fresh adhesive properly.

The longer a crack has been present in a wet area, the more moisture may have reached the substrate. A crack open for more than 6 months in a shower needs more thorough assessment on arrival. Mentioning the timeline helps us prepare for what we might find.

What is the difference between grout and caulk?
Grout fills the joints between tiles. Caulk fills the corner and transition joints where tile meets a different surface. Caulk is flexible and absorbs movement — the corner joints in a shower should always be caulk, not grout, to prevent cracking.
How long does grout repair take?
A small repair of a few linear feet takes 1–2 hours. A full shower regrout takes 2–4 hours. Re-adhering loose tiles adds 30–60 minutes for the adhesive application before regrouting can begin.
Can you regrout a whole shower in one visit?
Yes. We grind out the old grout, clean the joints and apply new grout in one visit. The shower must stay dry for 24–48 hours after regrouting. Sealing, if requested, is done after the grout cures and adds time.
Do you re-adhere loose tiles?
