  3. Check the hole left in the fascia. If it is oversized from movement, apply wood epoxy filler and allow to cure 24 hours before re-fastening.
  4. Install a hidden hanger (screw-type) every 600mm (24 in) along the run — not just where the old spikes were. Hidden hangers hook under the front lip and screw through the back of the gutter into the fascia using a #10 × 3-inch coarse-thread screw. The screw reaches the rafter tail behind the fascia board for solid engagement.
  5. Set slope as you go: 3–5mm drop per 300mm toward the downspout. Snap a chalk line first.
  6. Re-seal any joints that moved during the repair with gutter sealant applied from inside.

Fascia board assessment: what to check before re-hanging
